Hand Made English
Picture Frames
These picture frames are hand made by a team of Craftsmen in the UK and they have been lovingly producing handmade bespoke picture frames for many decades.
Original 18th century, hand carved box moulds are used to recreate authentic period designs. A plaster resin mix is used for the decoration which is applied to a primed wood profile. The frames are then carved and pierced by hand before the colour finishes are achieved by a series of individual processes, with many layers of hand stippling in multiple colours required for each finish. This is followed by gentle burnishing with an agate stone, finally being sealed with a delicate application of wax.
Profiles range from ¾” up to 12” and are available in a range of traditional and contemporary styles. Finishes can be tailored made to suit your requirements and the range offers everything from traditional ornate swept frames through to contemporary profiles .
Some profiles are available in 12, 16 and 23.75ct gold and silver leaf, either with full coverage or combined with bands and subtle colour washes.
