About John Haskins
John Haskins was born in Bermondsey, London and gained his City and Guilds Diploma in illustration at art school. He had a successful early career as a Chief Technical illustrator whilst continuing to pursue his love of painting.
After first exhibiting in London he took a leap of faith and decided to take up painting on a full-time basis.
He combined his passion for travelling with the opportunity to paint and collect material from around the world.
During this time he managed to stage successful one-man shows and exhibitions in international locations such as Australia, Hawaii, Los Angeles, Madrid, New York and Paris.
Many of John's works have been reproduced on magazine front covers, prints, calendars, greeting cards and book illustrations.
Working today from his studio at home in the Bedfordshire countryside, many of his paintings reflect the atmosphere and colour of his surroundings.
John Haskins paintings are impressionistic in style but provide an accurate record of the beautiful rural landscapes of England, particularly those of the surroundings close to London.
